Fayi Wu, Ph.D., A.P., D.O.M., M.D. (China)

Dr. Wu started his medical career in 1990 in China. His extensive education and training includes a medical doctor degree from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, a master degree in traditional Chinese medicine from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, and a Ph.D. in biological sciences from Florida State University. He practiced both Chinese medicine and western medicine in Beijing Huimin Hospital before he came to the USA. His practice focused on neurological diseases and internal medicine.

Dr. Wu grew up in a valley where people used herbs to treat diseases for they couldn’t afford western medicine. He was so amazed at the effectiveness of herbal treatment that he chose Chinese medicine as his major for his medical school study. After graduating from medical school, he continued his study of Chinese medicine at the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine where he focused on applying Chinese medicine to the treatment of digestive diseases. Once he attained a master’s degree in Chinese medicine, he completed residency and was an attending physician at Beijing Huiming Hospital in Beijing, China. He used Chinese herbs and acupuncture to treat internal medicine diseases and neurological disorders.

Although Chinese medicine and acupuncture are effective for many diseases, Dr. Wu dreamed of understanding the underlying biological mechanism behind the efficacy of Chinese medicine. As such, Dr. Wu started his Ph.D. studies at Florida State University where he focused on the mechanistic investigation of lipoxygenase, an important enzyme involved in chronic coronary disease, atherosclerosis, and tumorigenesis. After graduating from FSU, he continued to explore the inner workings of cancer and tumorigenesis. He has done investigations into Kaposi’s Sarcoma as well as extensive research into advanced prostate cancer at the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He broadened his insight into cancer biology by attending seminars at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

With the combination of ten years of biological research and 11 years of Chinese medicine, Dr. Wu is unique in his abilities to apply Chinese medicine and acupuncture in treating complicated syndromes with the aid of a modern scientific viewpoint.

Currently, Dr. Wu is a faculty member at Acupuncture and Massage College in Miami. He is specialized in the field of pain management, digestive disorders, neurological disorders, stress, depression and general internal medicine by using Chinese medicine, Acupuncture and Tuina.

XIANHUI LI, A.P., D.O.M, M.D.(China)

Dr. Li is a Florida State Licensed Acupuncture Physician and a diplomate in Oriental Medicine from National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is currently a full-time faculty member teaching Chinese Medicine at Acupuncture and Massage College (AMC) in Miami.
Dr. Li was born in the province of Shanxi, China and grew up in a family of Chinese medicine practitioners. With an interest in Chinese Medicine implanted from her childhood, Dr. Li went to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 1990 to study Traditional Chinese Medicine. There, she trained in both Chinese and Western medicine. After five years of full-time study, Dr. Li obtained her bachelor’s degree in Chinese Medicine (equivalent to an M.D. in the United States) in 1995.
In 1995, Dr. Li started her medical practice at Guang-an-Men Hospital, affiliated with the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing, the best hospital for Chinese Medicine in China. There, Dr. Li worked as a resident doctor and later as an attending physician. By using acupuncture and Chinese medicine herbs, she helped tens of thousands of patients during her practice in China.
To further understand the underlying mechanism of clinical Chinese Medicine, in 2004, Dr. Li entered the graduate school at Florida State University (FSU) to study developmental biology after she won a highly competitive scholarship for Chinese students.
In 2007, Dr. Li obtained her master’s degree in science. With three years of study in developmental biology and seventeen years of Chinese Medicine study and practice, Dr. Li earned an insightful perspective in the application of Chinese Medicine to treating diseases, for which no western medicines are yet available.
Dr. Li began teaching Chinese medicine at Acupuncture and Massage College in 2008. Dr. Li specializes in the treatment of acute/chronic pain, gynecological disorders, stress, obesity, allergies, and internal medicine disorders.
